In 2006, Flag’s Favorite Landscaping, Inc. started with two college guys, a pickup truck, and two rakes. What was expected to be a part-time job during the summer quickly turned into full-time work.

In 2007, it was decided to incorporate the business and hire employees to meet the needs of the growing customer base seeking landscaping in Flagstaff.

In the 2008 season, Dustin Mast saw the need to obtain a contractor’s license, as many clients wanted larger-scale landscaping projects completed. In the summer of 2008, the company became licensed, bonded, and insured. This allowed Flag’s Favorite Landscaping to further expand the business into many exciting areas. 

In 2009, it was decided that the business would be solely owned by Dustin Mast. Although a difficult decision, it quickly became evident that this would be the best for both partners as well as the clients.

In 2013, the company continued its expansion by moving its location to a commercial warehouse and becoming licensed in irrigation.

2014 was a year of change and growth. Flag's Favorite Landscaping changed its name to Flag Landscaping. Along with the name change, the company also bought a franchise with Christmas Decor to serve Northern Arizona. 

In 2015, The Decor Group voted us the best new franchise of the year! The addition of Christmas Decor allowed us to hire year-round employees and develop a more consistent team. 

2017 quickly became the most profitable year-to-date for Flag Landscaping and Christmas Decor! The landscape construction division of the company completed its largest projects to date, and Christmas Decor expanded into Nevada and decorated the City of Williams. 

We have been busy recently. With our business expanding, we started looking for a property to build a shop of our own. We found and purchased a lot on East Commerce Ave. in 2021 and started breaking ground on our new building in 2022. Our shop is now built and we are putting in the finishing touches to start operating out of our new location this 2023-24 season!

It’s Official! As of September of 2023, we were granted occupancy at our new warehouse and offices. It has been a long time coming, but we are settling in nicely. Our large yard and construction bays allow our guys to get in and out efficiently in the mornings, our new offices allow management to breathe while working estimates and invoices, and our large conference room has allowed us to meet together for safety meetings and team trainings. We love the new building and can’t wait to share our space with our customers.
